Hi all, just thought we would give an update on the Youth side of the club now that the season is well underway.

Things continue to go from strength to strength for both the under 9’s and the Dinky Dons. The under 9’s are going well and since the start of the summer have scored 77 goals with all 12 players registered to the club contributing and getting their dons goals account underway You can see the updated goal scoring table by clicking  here.

The under 9’s are all set to move from Starcross to the 4g in Teignmouth for their winter training sessions.

The Dinky Dons continue to go from strength to strength with numbers continuing to grow week on week as word spreads about how well the sessions are run and how much fun the children have!  These sessions have now relocated to Dawlish Leisure Centre and take place from 4.45 to 5.45 on a Thursday evening.

The plan will be for next season to continue these sessions for the younger children and those in current school year 1 will move up and form the inaugural Under 7’s team for the club, playing matches and training weekly.

Off the pitch, things continue to progress nicely as well, The club managed to secure a sponsor for some Dinky Dons training tops, so I would like to take this opportunity to say a  big thank you to Shoreline Technical Services who have kindly sponsored the Dinky Dons training tops. Sponsorship isn’t easy to come by, so we are really thankful to receive the support from these guys. Shoreline are a local drinks dispense company working with regional brewers, pubs and clubs, providing temporary bars for festivals, weddings, corporate functions and charity events etc. Check out their website for more information.

two more coaches (Greg and Jack) have completed their Level 1 coaching courses which include emergency first aid and safeguarding certificates which means these guys can take training sessions on their own now, giving the club more flexibility to cover sessions. Gabe has also joined the Dinky Dons and will be on hand to help the coaches with the sessions.  By the time I get round to the next blog, John will probably have completed his level 1 course which he starts in the next few weeks…

the club recently hosted a race night which raised just short of £1000  which will go into the club account and be split between the adults and the youth teams for when it is required. A big thank you goes to John  for organising the race night as well as the Dawlish Sports Bar for hosting a great event and everyone else who supported the event.
